Sorry for being a day late!! I started yesterday & thought I could have it done and posted. But I got a bit blocked with thinking of a title...and then when I figured out a title I was blocked on the style of the title, lol!!

more JBS June09 kit...

I did a couple of extra pages on Friday with the rest of my JBS June kit.

I really wanted to use the butterflies & straight pins on one layout. I used the glimmer mist on the doodlebug edge scallop(it was bright green)-all apart of the kit. Printed some journaling on vellum...the smaller words above giggles & flutter-laughter & float.

Question: I have Maggie's actions. (sweet woman). Please help me get it "down pat" for running an action on African Americans. Sometimes, my subjects look as if they had bathed in Fashion Fair foundation. I am currently using Color Pop. On my Caucasian friends, the pictures are spectacular. On me, I look orangey. A friend informed me that I was right about certain actions not doing well with our skintone. You seem to have "perfected" this.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

LOL, Cee!!!!!

Color Pop, yes...so orange on my girls too!! I don't use that one too much on my girls. I love Maggie's lighten up action & her simple color pop...and the vintage actions. Some of my other actions that give strong color tend to go orange on my girls as well. So I only use those actions on my photos that are nice & bright. Or I may add an lighten up actions on my photo before I use a deep color action.. I find that if my photo is too dark -actions like Color Pop will be too much for AA skin tones.

Also I may add a photo fliter to calm down a strong action in deep blue or some other blue tone that works with the photo. Hope that helps you Cee!!

Daddy was not to thrilled with these photos of his 12yr old baby girl...he was more like-burn them NOW!!

And don't even get me started on this one...her poses scare me!! She has a lot of attitude(on camera, not necessarily IRL-lol).

Now I have to pay with letting them buy outfits for their Little Big Planet characters on the PS3-argh!! They are so crazy about this weird game.

This page I did of my husband while we were at The Temple of Heaven in Beijing China last summer. He always has to talk when I am trying to take his photo, argh!! I seem to be loving my star & arrow punches for these pages! I had to add the Heidi Swapp ghost letters this morning...that space seemed too plain. And I didn't want to add anything overwhelming-so I went with my ghost letter stash(i am a bad hoarder). Hi Keisha~ Love all of your layouts posted but am taken by "photo notes". There's just something about vellum of which I'm going to start using more often now that you've inspired me to do so. I'm much like you in the sense that my layouts can take hours to days to complete. I also walk away from them and return much later with a new idea/renewed vision. When I have a mental block and not much inspiration I will scour my favorite scrappers online for inspiration and for templates to get me kick started. I love Pencil Lines website for templates which inspire me when in a block. Even Card-A-Licious's website inspires me for my 12x12 layouts. I'm still puttering in finding my own DNA in the layout design phase but am on my way. Thank you for sharing your talent with us :)

Thanks Mel! I do use actions on all my photos...there are links to photography blogs that I have got my actions from on the right side. I really love Maggie's and Leah's-but they all have great actions.

Oh, Kat...I think I am going to have to pay Amira(she's 12) this weekend for a few photo's!! Or pay Kiela so that she will get jealous and offer her services if I pay her too, lol!! I am so desperate at this point when it comes to my Mira.

Great layouts as usual. I love the colors in the spring on. Everything is just so...well perfect. How long does it take you to do a layout? Great photos too and it looks like your oldest is a photographer in training. Can't wait to see more.

Hello Jane & T-Wan....your question was made about the May 2 Happy NSD post...time varies for me on every project. I can do a page in an hour. Usually it takes me HOURS to days to months to finish a page. The two layouts from that post took me a day to finish. I usually walk away from my layouts throughout the day to do things around the house. And to give myself a chance to think about what I could do next-that really helps. Often I think about things for more than one day. If I am really excited about how a page is going...or if I am really excited about the products I am working with-I do more than one page in a day. I am an overthink{er}...the simplest pages can take me hours to finish. I also stand back and study my layouts. I may sit them on the floor or prop them up to get a different view. I may take a photo of them to see how my balance is going. I don't plan ahead...I just go with an idea that evolves!!

Happy Mother's day to all...

She is one of the reasons why this is my day!! I hope you all have a great day!

I'll be back to answer questions & a challenge question for a boy layout-yikes...Monday or Tuesday.

Kiela is always easy to convince into taking photos for me. Even though she doesn't want to!! Mira is not so kind to me. This is why Kiela is always here!! Saturday I asked her to take a few quick ones at the house across the street from us-no one lives there. And it has the prettiest flower bushes.

She looks so shocked because she thinks her dad is going to run her over-goofy girl!

On Friday...there were hundreds of caterpillars in the street. I have never seen so many all in the street before. Once I told Kiela they didn't bite she was picking them up...letting them crawl across her arm. She love how they tickled!

She noticed a bee in the flowers-it shows on her face...and she was gone.

The deer!! I tried to get a few photos of them from the deck while they were in the woods behind our house. It wasn't easy.
