Sorry, I have been working on stuff-good fun stuff! I have a guest spot coming up and I have been working on projects for that-cards & a new mini album. Today I was having some computer troubles, while I waited for my pc to rest I made this quick card. Now I must get back to editing project photos & working on another project. More new things will be posted soon!
Today is my blogging day on the TCD dt blog, and the theme for the week was home decor. I have had a busy week and had to rush home yesterday to do my project, sigh. This is another reason why I love my Big Kick-it is perfect for doing a FAST project! Especially when you are at a loss for ideas, doing something to be framed is a easy last minute project. Thank goodness I have extra frames on hand! This is seriously a 10 minute project, love that.
The gift box was done for the TCD dt blog last month-I forgot to post it on my blog. Both projects were made using the TCD Memories line.
I LOVE your cards. I always like your butterflies. Which die do you use for the large butterfly on the first card? I always have loved that one. Thanks and keep on inspiring us.
Opps, almost forgot your question...that yellow butterfly on the blk/wht thankful card was made with the Stampin Up Beautiful Butterflies die. I love it too!!
OMG!! I just discovered your blog and I'm blown away. Your work is simply gorgeous and your photography - well what can I say...stunning. I can't seem to get my camera to do what I want it to - time for some lessons, I think. Thank you so much for taking so much time and care when sharing your beautiful creations.
Hello Inky!! I am always glad to hear about someone discovering my blog, and enjoying it...THANKS! I wish I was better at photographing my family/people-that is where I need lessons!!
Hey Keisha, I came to email because I said, what's going on? I hadn't seen any updates, and there you were! Love the photos! can't wait to see them in the frames! Kiela is really growing! Say ruff to Lulu! Kathy
Sorry! For no new updates last week. I
have just been spending time with the family. The weekend before last LaVaughn
had been out of town for 3 weeks-really four...because he was gone for a week 2
weeks before that, lol. Plus, it's spring break for the girls. Kiela & I
have been dying to spend the day in DC-I have frames that I want to fill with b&w architectural photos for around the house. LaVaughn is in DC everyday, so it's hard to talk
him into going on the weekends. Kiela has not seen any of the monuments,
nor has Amira(but she's a sour-puss TEEN). Mira wanted to stay home,
so the rest of us had a nice time on the mall. There is still so much more
for us to see and so many more photos to take...I was able to fill two of
my four frames with my photos! And we finally had a chance to try
Sprinkles-which was a perfect way to end the day.
Time is ticking fast before the SU Sale-A-Bration is OVER-Friday March 22!! And then you won't be able to get that cool vine street embossing folder for free if you spend $50. Or a package of the clear vintage faceted buttons-like the one in the center of the butterfly free if you spend $50. Thanks for those who did make an order through Stella MacKay with my hostess code 6H22MY2G. I need to get my order in, we all just have until Friday March 22.
Last night I made two new cards with two new dies-the butterfly and the hexagons. I bought the hexagons for a project that called for them and then I did these cards for fun. The butterfly-I am always trying to find cool butterfly shapes & sizes. I thought I wouldn't use the body piece-now I kinda of like it.
Here is another stained wood egg-with some pearls, rhinestones, and a bit of gold string. A few months ago I made these rabbits out of clay-this is how far I got. I am not sure if I want to finish them more than they are-I am afraid of doing something all wrong! I think they are sweet as is, or are they?!
About 2 weeks ago I bought some wood & paper mache eggs to decorate. I love the pretty pastel colors of spring/Easter, but I want a more natural glitz to my Easter! I did a dark stain on the wood egg, but I held back on scattering the pearl stickers I first envisioned-sometimes you have to pull back on the glitz. On the large paper mache egg I used coarse & fine glitter, then wrapped gold/silver cord around the center. I have a few more wood eggs to decorate, one will have those pearls!
Happiness is....stumbling upon an inspiring blog. Swoon. Love at first sight. Your photography, your projects, your eye for the detail - my heart just wants to stop here and stay for a while. Thank you for sharing your pieces of beautiful. Your new fan, Louise X
This week I have been setting up some Easter decorations in the living room & dining room-I made a few garlands. Last night I made two garlands-I received 2 new dies(a pinwheelLifestyle Crafts QuicKutz 4-Inch by 4-Inch Flower Pinwheel Die
& a doilySpellbinders Picot Edge Circles
). Kiela is new addicted to using my Big Kick, she has been all in my stuff-argh! Have a good weekend & I hope you enjoy the Easter photos...
Hi Keisha! I've been following your blog for years and I must say, I really do love your cards. I was wondering what white cardstock you use... it has a nice bit of texture, but not too much! Could you please let us know? Thanks!
These are GORGEOUS!! I am so jealous of all your creativity.. I'm in a funk and have absolutely no mo-jo. Your cards though, are very inspiring! Happy Birthday... late! lol :)
This weekend I was able to enjoy some time in my Studio enjoying some new Stampin Up stuff. Two new butterfly punches, butterfly die, some stamps, banner dies, a new embossing folder, and a doily die. It had been a few years since I had placed a Stamin Up order, so I placed a bday order!
I love each and everything I purchased...I have put my Big Kick through some serious work! I made some cards as I tried out my new things, and I used TCD's papers(plus some of my other embossing folders).
If you feel enticed by what I have bought and want to buy a few things as well this would be the perfect time to do so...Stampin Up has their Sale-A-Bration going on now until March 22-this is the only way to get the leaf embossing folder {FREE} I used on the grey card! And if you need a demonstrator you can use the lady I have order through since 2008, Stella MacKay and use her online store with my hostess code 6H22MY2G(open for 30 days). We can make this a little blog party!
I hope to make one more order for a few more things on my wishlist before Sale-A-Bration is over!!
I would love to know what embossing folders you are using. Your cards always look so pretty and crisp. I love the layouts. I've gotten some of the background stamps that you use and would love to get the embossing folders that you are using. I love my Bigshot too that was the first thing I bought when I started trying to make cards. I love the look of embossed cards and tags. Thanks Doris
Jamia, I usually do it myself with my scissors. Now that I have that new Stampin Up banner die-it will help! I do have a Marvy triangle type banner punch I use from time to time. I just learned that the one with the double ends is called a fishtail, lol!!
