i've started decking my halls & jingling my bells!! so excited that my Christmas decor orders are here, I just need to figure out a tree. real or faux??!! i saw a pretty faux tree at the market over the weekend...can't get it off my mind. but i love real trees...they just get too dry, too fast here. last year the needles were falling off if we just blew at them!
i ordered the white trees & gorgeous pears/apples from crate & barrel...along with some other ornaments. the glittered up wish & believe swags(i always wondered where jenni bowlin got her welcome swag from, lol)...and the flags are from this cool shop-love it...i found it a year ago. wendy addison & nicol sayer...and bethany lowe my faves.
i hope to have a tree by Thanksgiving...and the house all decorated...but my lights are not here yet...it takes so long to get things...
i tried to get some photos of the girls in their new Santa hats...i wanted Mira & Kiela to give a quick kiss...which Mira hates to do...she says Kiela's kisses are too wet...but Mira doesn't understand how slobbery she is, lol!!! In the end I had to promise her 20 rmb=about $2!!
They were too jumpy...so all my photos were pretty blurry. But that worked perfectly for the Garden blurry photo theme this month. I did a mini album about the kiss photos!!
one of my Garden projects is Acrylic stamps...love it when the new Garden blooms...get product details there!!
out & about...my friend Tracy talked me into taking a walk on Sunday...so we could shop & take photos. that's Tracy there in all red...we first stopped off at the new Flower market by where we live...there used to be tons of open lots that had pottery & kites along a major street by us. They are totally cleaning this area up....put in a new park...I am happy to have a nice Flower market closer to me!! this is the market that i saw the faux Christmas tree at!!
this is a common sight!! tracy tried to tell someone in the shop about their sign...but it was closed.
we made our way to a wet market further down the road...way way down the road...we took a taxi back after we were done at this wet market.
you can really make your money go a long way at the markets...I wouldn't buy the "antiques" from here...but wet markets are pretty good for getting veggies & fruits...i have walked away with bags & bags of fruits & veggies for about $5...because we walked I just looked around!! we probably walked about 2-3miles away from where we live...
Hi Kiesha
I noticed your blog awhile ago on a friend of a friends blog type thing. So I check yours out every now and then. You have such a gift with your crafty eye. I was wondering if you could tell me where you get all those darling little stamps with the cute shapes... as in picture number 2 above. ( not the lettering, but the shapes that almost look like a toile design. ) I've been looking everywhere for something like that and can't find anything. Any advice ?
Thanks
Deb
Love those photos! And the picture of the girls, FANTASTIC! Your wet market photos are like Heidi Swapps...have you caught up with her yet?

I wish I could get you to come to my house and decorate. I love the way you place things in just the right spots. Nothing overwhelming or cluttered. You should totally get Heidi to come and meet up with you! You can give her a real tour of Beijing!

Ok Keisha,
Since this is the season for wishing and dreaming, I thought it may be fun for some of your readers, including you, to post links to their DREAM scrapbook studio. I will go first. Other than yours of course :), I really admire this space:
