Over the weekend I grabbed a few sheets of my favorite gold glitter & mirrored papers from Michael's-since they were on sale. I made a few Thanksgiving decorations with the golden papers & my Big Kick-a garland and some framed art. I only wish that my photos turned out better, I tried & tried! It is so hard (for me) taking photos of things with lots of white. Argh!
Yesterday these projects were featured on the Pink Paislee blog! It was so nice to do a guest spot for them and it was very cool to have a chance to play with their new lines-Luxe & Cottage Farms. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Luxe papers-I LOVE them. Graphic patterns of black/white and metallics-perfection! It was killing me waiting for my guest spot to post, because I wanted to keep using the Luxe papers for everything. Now I can use what bits I have left- freely!
Today is my blogging day on the TCD dt blog, and the theme for the week was home decor. I have had a busy week and had to rush home yesterday to do my project, sigh. This is another reason why I love my Big Kick-it is perfect for doing a FAST project! Especially when you are at a loss for ideas, doing something to be framed is a easy last minute project. Thank goodness I have extra frames on hand! This is seriously a 10 minute project, love that.
The gift box was done for the TCD dt blog last month-I forgot to post it on my blog. Both projects were made using the TCD Memories line.
I LOVE your cards. I always like your butterflies. Which die do you use for the large butterfly on the first card? I always have loved that one. Thanks and keep on inspiring us.
Opps, almost forgot your question...that yellow butterfly on the blk/wht thankful card was made with the Stampin Up Beautiful Butterflies die. I love it too!!
OMG!! I just discovered your blog and I'm blown away. Your work is simply gorgeous and your photography - well what can I say...stunning. I can't seem to get my camera to do what I want it to - time for some lessons, I think. Thank you so much for taking so much time and care when sharing your beautiful creations.
Hello Inky!! I am always glad to hear about someone discovering my blog, and enjoying it...THANKS! I wish I was better at photographing my family/people-that is where I need lessons!!
Hey Keisha, I came to email because I said, what's going on? I hadn't seen any updates, and there you were! Love the photos! can't wait to see them in the frames! Kiela is really growing! Say ruff to Lulu! Kathy
I did a few projects for Teresa Collins Designs CHA booth. I have more to share once I can sit down and fight with my old pc to edit the rest of my photos, argh! Here is what few I have edited to share and you can always look here for more DT projects and here.
New lights for my studio! They are cool & very industrial. I like the fact that they are totally different-they're black and most of my stuff is white. I like the fact that the lights are rugged-mixed with my more elegant decor. LaVaughn was shocked with my choice, lol. I was saving up for a pair of wall mount swing arm lights, but these were a steal from Restoration Hardware.
Now I can start to hang my framed tags & more photos...I am slowly buying the frames.
I am still playing with my tags & embossing. Trying to keep the posts coming & blogging something!! We had a great Christmas & New Year-now it's time to pack-up the decorations, sigh. The house looks so bare when it all comes down. Now I am off to doing some cleaning, later!
Merry Christmas, Keisha! I have been a follower of your blog ever since China. Your style is great! I have a few slice questions: what cartridges do you have in your collection? Which one(s)you use a lot? What's your favorite and why? I love your slice die cuts but don't know which you use when you post your work. Please tell which with a layout/card/craft. Thank you so much!
Hey Lori...Yikes, let's see I have 22 cards...I have all the Christmas cards & Halloween cards; I love the cards with words & expressions. And if it has cool butterflies, I HAVE to have it-Paper Reverie, Vintage Findings, Jungle, Just Chillin-all have the best butterflies and are my top favorites. Paper Reverie also has leaves that I LOVE. Paper Reverie & Vintage Findings have a great BEE shape that I love to use. Noteworthy & Wedding I use most for flowers-Wedding has great letters & words too. Fall Back To School is a top card-great letter/number fonts and shapes. Mix & Mingle has lots of letter/number fonts.
I use Paper Reverie, Vintage Findings, and Just Chillin most of all-and if you see a butterfly, bee, bird, leaves or words on one of my pages-it was done with one of those cards.
Original is definitely what your work is! I love it, I will admit I do stalk your blog but it's mainly to see your beautiful home decor. It is the complete opposite of mine Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing your talent with all of us. You inspire me!
Patience, I love it when people stalk my blog! I just have a stalker that is literally a stalker-not in a good or funny way...but creepy. Thanks for being one of the fun stalkers, lol!!!
Love Love LOVE these! So pretty. Keisha your art is always amazing. How are you making those faboo boxes and where did you ever find all that glittery ribbon?? Love it all! :)
Keisha, I simply love everything you create. Your style is so pretty. If I may ask, can you please show us some of your storage ideas on things like how you store unmounted rubber stamps?? That would be so cool. Also, how do you store your bulky scrap layouts? Love your blog, def one of my top favs.
Hello Janice...I keep my clear/unmounted in a canvas storage basket. And I plan to keep my bulky/odd sized pages in a linen storage box from Restoration Hardware. Right now I put them in clear plastic bins.
I'll try to post a photo of the stamp storage later this week, thanks!!!!!
This week I am into embossing my tags...with metallic powders! Most of my powders I have had for 10 years, and I wanted to try some newer powders. I wanted the metallic to really pop. I almost bought some Pearl Ex & Perfect Pearls-but I had no clue how to use them. I had to come home and look at a few YouTube videos, lol!! Now I think I am ready to buy them tomorrow when I go out to do my biweekly shopping.
OK, so my plan is to frame most of my tags and hang with a mixture of framed photos in my studio.
Original, this is what you get when you visit this blog. In a few days I can explain why I needed to mention this. Just know I don't stalk blogs for my ideas-not that I have been accused of that. Although, there are some awesome blogs that I could stalk!!
I haven't been in the mood for scrapping layouts...I have been so into tags, buttons, metallic’s, and my glue gun! I hope you can enjoy my latest obsession and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!!
