mm blog & peas garden projects...

this was posted on MM Blog on Wed...i love this page! I love the colors & how simple it is. That green dot paper is from the Christmas line, i believe this sheet is called st nick, it's my fave to use!! I love this shade of green. I popped a full sheet of Bazzill scallop behind it...in between that is some cream cardstock. All the ribbons, brads, felt flowers, stickers, letter stamps, buttons, ledger pp is all MM. Inside the MM metal labels I used a hero arts(small) & stampin up(large) stamps.

i had to do something with buttons for a Garden project...

ok, so you give this one "down hair" and she becomes a diva...i did not tell her to pose like this...

ooo, that middle guy...she's not supposed to have...someone would get very mad at her if she knew...

one thing this one loves-a salad...yesterday she had two...with lots of "yellow cheese"

hey christina...i tape them together with wide clear tape...down the center-like a seam...then cover that with cardstock or pattern paper!!

Okay I just want to say that I would love to have pink fireworks out side of my window!! Such cuteness;+)

I don't know Keisha, I think you do a pretty dang good job on your photos! We all just need to keep learning. :)

I also (at least I don't think so) have never commented on your blog, but I wanted you to know that I think you do awesome work. You are also a huge enabler for getting new things. Take that 2-tier basket from Crate and Barrel last year. Just had to have it. Glad I did though, I use it to store all my stamps.

lol, danielle...i was just talking about that right above...it was from crate & barrel last Easter...it caused a big stir last year...i do have 2...one in my kitchen!

Congratulations on your first cover publication! Your projects and layouts are gorgeous. You are in inspiration because you are the only one i stumble across that is from Detroit making it big in scrapbooking. I developed a strong interest in scrapbooking since the birth of my daughter and I am glad that I have a way to express my talent in art and leave a memory for her. I showed my hubby your blog to prove to him that I am not the only from from Detroit that likes scrapbooking.

hello pam!! thank you...um, those frames are from microsoft picture it program-it came with the pc!! I try to take my photos between 11am-5/6pm(depending on the time of year-no later than 4pm in the winter). Now the days are getting longer...so I try to before 6pm...i have my fave spots around the house i use often. I also have tons of natural lighting throughout the house...there really is not a bad spot...it's just me trying to get the right settings-i am not always good at that. thank goodness for photoshop!!

heaven, i wish i could help you...the most i can tell you now is to do a ebay search-i got mine off ebay last month. it was on martha stewart crafts online store & at michael's-from what i "hear" it's either discontinued or it was a seasonal item...i hear it went to the clearance section at mike's...i know it has caused a craze...so be ready for a fight to find & get it!!

how about some pages on the funky side? I have tons of Elsie's line-but it scares me. I love it-it just scares me. Can I be that cool, hummm...I tried...

I did some dry embossing on the corners...I use Stampin Up photo corner punch & embossing template. Some Rhonna swirl stamps...MM noteworthy pad...Marvy pink & purple scallop heart punches(love those)...lots of pop dots...New Heidi Swapp heart & heart graph pp...and lots of Elsie's buttons, stickers, rubs-a mix of betty & roxie lines!

one more with Zoe line...with some MM felt flowers...Heidi New dotted pp(blk/wht)...Heidi Grace straight pin...some dry embossing...Stampin Up spiral punch...

I go to blogs like this Kimberly Bee and wish I was that good-she is simply amazing...my jaw drops with each photo!

this is something I did for the Garden last month....

ok, so it's time for me to get the girls into bed...it's 9pm Thursday night. They are going crazy with fireworks tonight, not sure why. Maybe still celebrating Chinese New Year....this is what it looks like from my view as I type...only these photos are from last Friday night!!!

i had a hard time finding the best setting-sorry...

it's nice to get a show every year right from home!!

 

i don't like my kids...

i just wanted to take some photos today...am i asking them for too much???? these two are not my fave people when i am taking their picture, especially when they are TOGETHER.

you see i just upgraded to CS3....and I have been playing around with my camer in Raw-thanks to Laura! So I need to practice. you need to know-i really don't know what i am doing. i am a big faker, lol!!! i like to seem like i *know* what i am doing. i really just play with buttons & functions i hear real serious photographers talk about!!!! i hope to take classes when i am back in the states...til then i will continue to fake it-and hope for the best!!!

oh, and....three weeks...three weeks off...mira has three weeks off now...Christmas & winter break has started...pray for my sanity!!!! we will be baking cookies tonight...

hum, not real sure steph...i do cut it in half...one piece i fold down the longest side...then i might cut a bit off the bottom-that piece makes a cute mini card!! that's a big help, huh?!

the stampin up heat & stick powder is at the bottom of the page to the right!

I just love the way you take photos of your layouts ! Whould you share the secret ? Do you have so much natural light in your room and what settings on the camera do you use ?

hi barbara!!! i get so much light...even on cloudy days. i usually stay in manual mode...i like keeping my exposure at the lowest....and adjusting my iso as needed-lower if it's really sunny..remember i am lucky to have great light!!!

Hey I need some photoshop tips. What setting do yo use in Photoshop that gives your B&W photos the washed vintage look?

Do you lighten them or lower the contrast?

hi chanel...in photoshop & paint shop pro i often in "channel mixer" with the red filter...i do that after i use the curve filter...then i usually won't add any contrast because it's pretty bright after the curves!! hope that helps!!

hello chrissy...martha also makes a glitter glue that i love...i used that...sometimes i use stampin up heat & stick powder!!
