My addition to the JBS DT garland project! Each DT member is making an item to add to the garland and you can see the project on the inspiration blog. I used Jenni's new Christmas line papers & brad...and some mini tree decorations from Michael's(Santa, snowman, tree pick).
Keisha, these photos (as usual) are absolutely stunning. To which extend are they a product of your camera and talent and actions/ photoshop? I've come across Totally Rad and I'm addicted to it but wondering if I still need a new camera. My interior shots never come out nearly as great as yours. On another note; your girls' hair always look so beautiful. Is their hair natural like that, relaxed or do you just have the perfect product? My girls are bi-racial and while my little one has my caucasian hair, my older one has my husbands hair. She's 9 and likes her hair straight. I don't believe in relaxing but any moisture in the air and it curls right back ... I've gone thru tons of products, both drugstore and expansive ones. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!!!
Hi Claudia...My photos have a lot of magic added to them to make them look as if I know what I am doing! Speedlite & photo actions are always involved at some point. I LOVE Totally Rad-I use their free set-Happy Happy is a nice was to soften some of my photos. Most of my photos have 4Hens actions added to them.
My girls hair is chemically relaxed, I would like to get away from doing that someday. I relax Kiela's with Just for Me once a month. Amira & I get our hair done at an salon once a month. For your girls-I would not relax. I am no expert...I do love Mizani products to maintain & moisturize. And Carol's Daughter is great-everything smells good too!! I love this Tui spay mist-moist & shine, smells really good. My friend gave me some Argan oil-it's like magic...makes Kiela's hair super soft & easy to comb through. To help straighten & smooth Kiela's hair I use a round vented brush after washing when I blow dry her hair(with a heat protection). And then she usually gets it flat iron-this is our routine every Sunday. I don't do any heat the rest of the week.
There is also a line called Mixed Chicks-I want to try these. I hope this helps you & let me know if you try something!!
PS-I found a lot of good youtube videos with girls giving some good tips for black hair care here & here
Keisha, I'm having the most difficult time trying to post here lately - on my end I'm sure. Anyway, I just wanted to say these girls are stunning, beautiful and I love how they look so serene and happy in there. Amazing costumes, love the pumpkin patch - lots of creative shots there.
Briana...I am not sure why you & others are having a hard time leaving comments, argh! Thanks for putting up with the inconvenience. I got rid of some stuff hoping that it would help.
Oh my goodness! yer cards are beautiful and the perfect inspiration to jump start some cards of mine, lovely and fun! what inks and stamps did u use? Thanks! Clouds :)
Hey Cloud...I am so all over the place with stuff! Inks vary from Stazon-love the white & pink for stamping on transparencies...black too. Colored inks can be some of Jenni Bowlin's new ink line, Stampin Up inks, Tim Holtz, and a few others. The stamps I have been using on the tags are 7gypsies & Tim Holtz. And a few Jenni Bowlin & Martha Stewart.

-------------------------------------------------------****Back to school style.......
Amira will be starting high school this year, OMG! So we have been telling her that she needs to jazz up her style. She shocked me with her shoe choice-they are so funky & cool. We were in Anthropologie in Georgetown when I saw this cute green blazer. I really didn't think she would like Anthropologie, but she did. She loved the little blazer and this cute ruched tee to go with it. Her backpack was something she received last Christmas and still loves it....
------------------------------------------------****Kiela is truly into her look. She loves to pick out her outfit for the day, complete with jewelry.
Keish, I've just stumbled upon your blog and I'm so happy that I did. It's full of beautiful things. I especially love the look of layered kraft cardstock punched paper over kraft. Gorgeous! I also loved the pictures of your daughter's closet and bedroom. I'll be redoing my girls' room soon so I feel inspired by you. I'm curious about the photoshop actions you used on those pictures. I'd purchase them in a heartbeat. Thanks!
Hi ladies, Lately I have been using actions from My Four Hens-but I am not sure if she is still selling the actions that I have. I LOVE her Curly Joe action most of all!!!
I snapped a few photos of the kitchen Friday since the sunlight was spilling in! We still have a bit to do-like getting glass for the two cabinets over the stove. Add molding & medallions...some other odd ends. I do love it a lot more now.
Spring makes me want to play with the flowers. Sit on the porch. Drink something refreshing. Take some pretty pictures. Buy some school photos, argh. Make some fresh lemonade. Drive a new car. Scrap a little, maybe.
I know I have a million questions but on the Jan lo, do you know the name of the martha punch you used, specificially the one on the bottom in white? It looks like a ribbon lace type of punch?
wowza, i can finally comment on yer blog again! what wonderful projects!!! luv luv them all, especially the cards :) sooo, plse tell me what the gold paper is? and where i can find it :) I have the Paper Reverie card (thanx to you) and would luv the make the gold butterflies!!! Hugs, C :)
Cloud, I wish I know the name of that paper or who makes it. I grabbed it at my lss. I need to buy some more and then I will look to see who makes it, sorry!
At times, it really does take a long time to load onto this site...but lately it has been much improved, and also always well worth the wait. Love your layouts, but how do you scrap all of your photos when you choose to put only one or two on a page. I would love to know, since i am a 8.5 x 11 scrapper, and always have the dilemma of two many photos to tell the story, even when i delete some. Any suggestions?
OMG, even my mom complained that her friends have issues with this blog!!! Thanks for still coming & waiting!
I like to have extra photos from one event to scrap over multiple layouts-more fun for me. You can always tuck extra photos into an envelope on your age. Or saving projects that require a lot of photos into a really quick & simple mini album. Try printing photos down to photo booth size and using multiple strips of them on your page.
I like her closet alot, very neat....but don't you miss color in your house??? I would die!!! I'm a warm toned person...those cool colors wouldn't warm me up, LOL....
LOL, I love color-in small amounts!! Like my green amoire & shelves, yellow sideboard in my blue family room. Truth be told, I'd LOVE to have my home done in all WHITE-I would be in cool heaven!!! But my hubby would prob feel like you if I did that.
Oooh, love that dresser. Is it mirrored? I'm going to fly you out once I'm unpacked so you can direct my house decorating efforts. Really! We get girl tim and some cupcakes too!
Beautiful as always! I wanted to know what punch did you use on the Happy Birthday card? I also wanted to know what punch you used back in the January JBS gallery using the wood frames? I believe that layout was part of a grid challenge for JBS.
