Today I posted this on the TCD's DT blog. This album features the TCD's Masquerade line, and I finally used my Zutter to bind the album. I haven't made a mini album in a while, mostly because I used up my little album stash. This is why I purchased a Zutter last month, I love the fact that I can make up a album in any size when I need one. I tried real hard not to make this album too bulky-but I do LOVE pop dots. I am also happy I was able to use some of my most favorite Halloween photos of the girls from 2yrs ago. I hope that this year I can take photos that are just as good-I will have to do some major bribing.
Yesterday these projects were featured on the Pink Paislee blog! It was so nice to do a guest spot for them and it was very cool to have a chance to play with their new lines-Luxe & Cottage Farms. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Luxe papers-I LOVE them. Graphic patterns of black/white and metallics-perfection! It was killing me waiting for my guest spot to post, because I wanted to keep using the Luxe papers for everything. Now I can use what bits I have left- freely!
Today I am sharing some cards and a little mini folder album using TCD Stationary Noted line. I have been working on these for the past couple of days-the mini folder has been on my table for over a month. It took me sometime to figure out what I wanted to do with the mini folder-I wanted to keep it simple. It is hard resisting the urge of piling on the stuff-making it super bulky!! I had to pull myself back a few times, taking away things.
Last week I was thrilled to start pulling out all the crows, Fred the skeleton(I made him a sign), and his buddies for Halloween 2012! I am still working on placing things and need to stop at the local farmers stands for a few white pumpkins. I was so excited to see that this year two of the stands I pass have loads of white pumpkins-love the competition between the two farmers!
I also have ideas swirling around in my head of stuff I want to make-but where is the time? This weekend I felt like I was all over the place-drove to Cindy's house for her Thirty-One party on Saturday. Sunday I took Mira and a couple of her friends to the mall for Homecoming dress shopping-by the way, did I ever mention she now has her driver's permit...and she has a certain amount of driving hours to achieve before getting her license. The 20 mins we spent driving through the neighborhood was super fun;-)
Today-I am staying HOME! In my studio...I hope to finish a couple of layouts I started last week and doing some Halloween stuff. And maybe do some cleaning-Lulu's hair is everywhere!
I have been wanting to leave a comment for the last month or two when I came across your blog through Making Memories. Quickly I added you to my "favorites". I simply love your blog and style. Everything you post from crafts to photography is chic, elegant, simple and beautiful. It not only shows in your craft but design, decorating and home. I LOVE popping in to see what other marvelous project has been posted. This is truely one sight I never get tired of looking through and spend sooo much time looking at photographs for ideas, inspiration or to simply look at pretty things like I would a favorite magazine. Your so blessed to be very talented. Thank you for taking the time to post all these pictures and share all the lovely things in your life. Looking forward to all your future post. -Jasmin : >
Hi Jasmin...well, I just don't know how to thank you enough for taking the time to leave such great compliments. It's always wonderful to hear what people think and I always hope that everyone enjoys each visit. I love it when I go to a site and it makes me want to make something right away...or makes me go rearrange the decorations in a better way somewhere in my house-a site that makes me feel inspired makes my day...and then makes me want to also inspire those who come here to my blog. I am thankful when I read a comment like yours(or any comment left)-thank you Jasmine & all others who may feel the same way!!
Keisha, I love this - it's beautiful. Just love how your photography blends so nicely with the album. Good work! I have the same questionsas those above! Melinda Wharton at scrapkit studio
Keisha, I love this mini album. I recognise the skeleton stamp from My Mind's Eye but what company or companies is the paper from? Also those labels (Spider Fangs, Deadly morsels)are amazing but have no idea what line they are from either. I would love to use something similar for a mini album for my granddaughter if you could provide some company names for me.
Joan...Lots of old stash stuff with a bit of new stuff! Ok, the Deadly Morsels is Martha Stewart from 2 or 3 seasons ago-look on Ebay for those stickers. All the other stickers( SpiderFangs, Hemlock, Trick or Treat and Oct 31) are new K&Co sticker set I grabbed from Michaels-the witch sticker too. The papers are all from My Minds Eye-a mix of two lines. One is their Halloween line and a line of black & white papers called Meadow Lark...I love doing Halloween in blk/wht with bits of orange. Yep, the stamps are My Minds Eye...and the skeleton at the end(or the first photo on black cardstock) is a Michael's stamp. Lots of old Making Memories stickers(letters/numbers and word stickers) & some Jenni Bowlin bingo cards and journaling cards. Studio Calico stamps(2006)...te glittery spider might be Jolee's...some black sequence...OMGosh, I am just noticing that there are a couple pages missing, lol.
Finally, done! I have been working on this just about everyday for the past month?! Last week LaVaughn & I think we had a bit of the flu-I am just now really feeling better. This album is really simple-and the simplest of things seem to take me forever!
This album has photos of the girls from past Halloween 06-09. I want to do another mini for 2010-11 soon. Right now I am just glad that this one is done!! I posted it from end to beginning and I am to ticked to reload the photos!!
I just wanted to say that your work is lovely and I love your photos...esp. of your beautiful dog. She looks so much like my own that I had to tell you that I think she has Rhodesian Ridgeback in her. I know she was a rescue dog and you don't know her bloodlines, but I would bet money on it. She is gorgeous!! Kim
Wow, Khastie...she does look just like that breed. We would love to find out what she is-one day soon. Thanks for pointing that out to me...you've got me totally wondering now!! They are a beautiful breed.
At times, it really does take a long time to load onto this site...but lately it has been much improved, and also always well worth the wait. Love your layouts, but how do you scrap all of your photos when you choose to put only one or two on a page. I would love to know, since i am a 8.5 x 11 scrapper, and always have the dilemma of two many photos to tell the story, even when i delete some. Any suggestions?
OMG, even my mom complained that her friends have issues with this blog!!! Thanks for still coming & waiting!
I like to have extra photos from one event to scrap over multiple layouts-more fun for me. You can always tuck extra photos into an envelope on your age. Or saving projects that require a lot of photos into a really quick & simple mini album. Try printing photos down to photo booth size and using multiple strips of them on your page.
I like her closet alot, very neat....but don't you miss color in your house??? I would die!!! I'm a warm toned person...those cool colors wouldn't warm me up, LOL....
LOL, I love color-in small amounts!! Like my green amoire & shelves, yellow sideboard in my blue family room. Truth be told, I'd LOVE to have my home done in all WHITE-I would be in cool heaven!!! But my hubby would prob feel like you if I did that.
Oooh, love that dresser. Is it mirrored? I'm going to fly you out once I'm unpacked so you can direct my house decorating efforts. Really! We get girl tim and some cupcakes too!
Beautiful as always! I wanted to know what punch did you use on the Happy Birthday card? I also wanted to know what punch you used back in the January JBS gallery using the wood frames? I believe that layout was part of a grid challenge for JBS.
